Unexploded Firework Washes Up In Falmouth

FALMOUTH (CBS) -- An unexploded commercial firework washed ashore on Surf Drive in Falmouth one day after the Fourth of July.

The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was notified "due to the potential dangerous nature of the device," according to the Falmouth Police.

The department posted on Facebook about the firework Wednesday, saying that it would be detonated between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Wednesday.

It was blown up in a controlled manner on the beach by the Bomb Squad.
