Uber Driver Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Passenger

NORWOOD (AP) — An Uber driver is facing charges after police say he sexually assaulted a passenger in Massachusetts.

State police arrested 31-year-old Junior Clarke, of Lawrence, on Saturday on charges of indecent assault and battery and related crimes.

Troopers responded to a home in Norwood around 5 a.m. Saturday, where the victim told police she'd been sexually assaulted by the driver, who had just dropped her off.

The 25-year-old woman told police that Clarke repeatedly asked her to kiss him, touched her inappropriately and accosted her during the approximately 50-mile trip from Methuen.

Clarke posted bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday. It's unclear whether he has a lawyer.

A spokeswoman for the San Francisco-based ride hailing company says Clarke has been banned and will no longer be able to work for the company.
