Two Men Shot In Andover Overnight

ANDOVER (CBS) -- Andover Police are looking for the public's help as they investigate the shooting of two men late Thursday night.

At 10:22 p.m., Andover Police were notified that two young men were brought to Lawrence General Hospital with gunshot wounds. Both men received serious injuries as a result of the shooting, according to police.

The two men were both treated at the hospital and released Friday morning.

Andover Police initially said the men had been shot at a duplex home on North Main Street in Andover and that a friend had driven the pair to the hospital. The two unidentified men are in their 20s.

Authorities are now saying that the shooting took place in the Shawsheen Plaza, located at 209 North Main Street in Andover.

Andover Police say they believe the victims were specifically targeted. The motive, along with the shooting, remains under investigation by Andover, Lawrence and Massachusetts State Police.

"We do not believe that there is any danger to the community at large. Right now, this investigation is just beginning, and we greatly appreciate everyone's patience while the victims are tended to and we work to determine who is responsible for this act of violence in our community," Andover Police Chief Patrick Keefe said in a statement.
