Two Killed In Route 24 Crash In Fall River

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- Two men were killed Sunday morning in a single-car crash on Route 24, Massachusetts State Police said.

The crash happened around 1:35 a.m. just south of Exit 8A in Fall River.

State Police said the 2003 Mercury was travelling in the northbound lane when it went off the road and hit a tree.

They said a 36-year-old man and his 23-year-old passenger were taken to Charlton Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. They have not yet been identified.

Another 23-year-old passenger was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, but the extent of their injuries were not yet known.

The cause of the crash was not yet known.
