Two Killed In Head-On Jamaicaway Crash

BOSTON (CBS) – Two people were killed and one person seriously injured in an early morning crash Sunday on the Jamaicaway in Boston.

Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to calls of a head on crash just before 3 a.m. on Sunday after a 2007 BMW with three people inside struck a 2002 Toyota Camry with two people inside. The crash took place near Perkins Street on the Jamaicaway.

A 44-year-old Everett woman and a 33-year-old Revere woman, both passengers in the BMW, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said neither woman was wearing a seat belt during the crash, which officers believe played a factor in their deaths.

The driver of the BMW, a Hyde Park woman, was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

A Roslindale man who was driving the Toyota was also transported to Beth Israel with non-life threatening injuries while the passenger of the car, who has not been identified, is in critical condition.

The Jamaicaway was closed until about 6:30 a.m. as police reconstructed the crash.

Initial investigation indicates that the BMW crossed the center lane markers and struck to the Toyota, police said on Sunday morning.
