Twins Live Longer Than Non-Twins, Study Finds

BOSTON (CBS) - If you're a twin, you can expect to live longer than your non-twin counterparts, and if you're an identical male twin you might live even longer.

One theory is that twins are born with a buddy for life who can provide social support and companionship. And identical twins may be even more emotionally bonded than fraternal twins.

In general, having a twin, a spouse, or a close network of friends can help you be more physically active, can lend a shoulder to cry on, and become a caregiver if you become sick.
