Truro Police K-9 Helps Seize Meth, Prescription Pills In Bust

TRURO (CBS) -- An alert K-9 officer helped Truro police seize meth, a large amount of prescription pills and cash on Thursday.

Truro police officer Steven Raneo and his partner "Ella" were called to Route 6A just after 2 p.m., where a car was stopped for failing to use a turn signal, and the occupants were allegedly acting "suspiciously," police said.

Ella was able to detect a "narcotic odor" coming from the car. Inside, police said they found 14 grams of meth, a large assortment of prescription pills that were packed for distribution, $880 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.

Billerica residents Scott Michael Donaghue, 31, and Damon Benjamin Robinson, 23, were arrested on drug charges.

Police said both have faced drug charges before, and Robinson has had 40 prior criminal charges in the state for various offenses.
