Mass Pike Traffic Snarled After Truck Crash In Natick

NATICK (CBS) – A major traffic backup resulted from a crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike Friday morning.

A tractor-trailer jack-knifed and several cars crashed shortly after 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Route 30 exit in Natick.

One car was stuck underneath the tandem trailer.

Eastbound traffic was backed up past Route 9 in Framingham after the crash. (WBZ-TV)

State Police said there were major delays because of injuries, a fuel spill, and the debris cleanup.

The backup extended as far back as Southboro.

Route 9 is usually an alternative route, but State Police said there was a backup on Route 9 east due to a broken pike near Oak Hill Road in Southboro.

All lanes of the Mass Pike were reopened around 7:40 a.m., State Police said.
