Tree Topples Onto Passing Uber In Brookline During Storm
BROOKLINE (CBS) -- Strong wind gusts brought a tree down on a passing Uber car in Brookline and temporarily left thousands without power across the eastern half of the state Sunday morning.
Weather spotters reported multiple trees down across eastern Massachusetts, including a large tree that fell on a passing car in Brookline on Beacon Street at Lancaster Terrace. Brookline police said three people inside the Uber at the time did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Eversource said a few hundred customers were still without power on Sunday afternoon.

Part of a tree also came down on wires and a vehicle on Boxford Street in Lawrence.
Orleans police said West Road and Kings Way were closed due to power lines down.
Nantucket reported the highest wind gusts, which reached 58 mph at 7:22 a.m.

The weather also halted ferry service to Boston Harbor Islands on Sunday.
