April vacation is a busy week for the indoor science center with nearly 1,000 visitors each day and 3,000 expected on Friday for an Earth Day event.

The popular attraction is a model of an 1865 steam engine and uses diesel fuel. The ride takes visitors on a 12 minute ride around the center.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, the train derailed just outside a tunnel, 30 people were on the train, 10 were in the overturned car. One person suffered minor injuries.

The center says it won't resume the rides until the train is deemed safe.
