Tractor-Trailer Chemical Fire Closes Down I-495 North

ANDOVER (CBS) -- All northbound lanes of I-495 in Andover were closed Monday afternoon into the evening after chemicals inside of a tractor-trailer truck interacted and exploded causing a fire.
One lane reopened around 8 p.m., over five hours after the highway closed.

Officials said that two barrels of hazardous materials caught fire.
No air quality issues were detected by State Police.

Firefighters needed the barrels to cool before they could be removed.
