T&R: How Much Do Bad Bands Cost To Book To Play Shows?

BOSTON (CBS) -- Toucher & Rich are in the midst of planning a 10-year anniversary party, and what's a party without some live music?

The guys figured they could book a band, even with a modest budget, to play the party and inject some life into the crowd. However, they've since discovered that even the bands you'd think would be cheap are anything but.

The initial wishlist from T&R included The Descendents, Steel Panther, Morris Day & The Time, The Eagles Of Death Metal, Andrew W.K. and Big Freedia.

Yet, when it came time to budgeting, they learned that live music don't come cheap.

Even Steel Panther, a band that's been in studio with T&R, couldn't take the pay cut.

"Steel Panther said, 'Listen guys, we're fans, but we make far, far more money than you have to offer,'" Fred relayed.

It was an eye-opening experience, one that led Rich to research the absurd, impossible-to-believe prices that some bands charge. Here's what he found:

Third Eye Blind: $75,000

3 Doors Down: $250,000

Smash Mouth: $60,000

Quiet Riot (one member from the band's heyday): $25,000

Poison (frontman Brett Michaels): $75,000

DJ Pauly D (from the "Jersey Shore"): $60,000

Redfoo (From Black Eyed Peas): $150,000
