Townsend Man Allegedly Stabs Neighbor Over Noise Complaint

TOWNSEND (CBS) – A Townsend man is charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a neighbor over a noise complaint.

Police were called to Turnpike Road just after midnight Friday for a disturbance.

Officers say a 65-year-old woman had knocked on 34-year-old Christopher Polakowski's door to ask him to keep the noise level down.

Townsend Police say Polakowski stabbed the woman three times with a knife and went back into his apartment.

The woman was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center where police say she is in stable condition.

Polakowski was arraigned Friday on charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to murder, and assault and battery on a person 60 years or older.

He pleaded not guilty and was held without bail until a dangerousness hearing on April 13.
