Townsend Police Looking For Man After Possible Attempted Abduction

TOWNSEND (CBS) – Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to abduct a child in Townsend.

Three teenage boys went to the police department Tuesday afternoon and told officers an older man jumped out from behind rocks and startled them.

They told police the same man tried to grab one of them and hit another on the back of the neck.

The suspect is described as an older man with a long gray beard who was wearing a red t-shirt, khaki shorts and a Boston Red Sox or possibly a Boston Bruins hat.

Police searched nearby woods but have not found the man.
