Tourist From AZ Following GPS Turns Into Path Of Freight Train In Webster

WEBSTER (CBS) --- A tourist from Arizona who drove into the path of a freight train, told police he was just following his GPS when he made a wrong turn.

According to Webster Police, the driver was using his rental car's GPS to find a hardware store near the intersection of Main and Davis streets.

Police say the driver missed the turn to the hardware store's parking lot and instead, turned onto the train  tracks.

After driving a short distance down the tracks, he told police he realized he made a mistake. As the train headed for the car, the driver got out and tried to flag the train down.

The train hit the car and pushed it a short distance down the tracks.

No one was injured and there's no word whether charges will be filed against the driver.
