Tornado Watch Issued For Western Massachusetts

PITTSFIELD (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Berkshire County in western Massachusetts.

Forecasters say the watch will be in effect until 11 p.m. Friday. Tornado watches also are up in eastern New York state and southern Vermont.

The Weather Service says severe thunderstorms are expected Friday night, mainly between 10 p.m. and midnight. Forecasters say some storms could come with damaging winds and heavy rain.

A tornado watch mean tornados are possible. A watch is less urgent than a tornado warning.
