Tornado Watch Declared For Parts Of Mass.

BOSTON (AP) — Forecasters say severe weather is expected in parts of Massachusetts, and a tornado watch has been declared for Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties.

The National Weather Service put the tornado watch in effect until 10 p.m. Friday.

It also says strong to severe thunderstorms are expected in parts of the state during the late-afternoon to evening hours. Those storms could include damaging winds, lightning, heavy rainfall and hail.

The strongest storms are expected between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. across western New England. If the storms hold, they could reach Boston between 9 p.m. and midnight.
