3 Confirmed Tornadoes Touch Down In Massachusetts As Remnants Of Henri Pass Through

BOSTON (CBS) -- There were three confirmed tornadoes in Massachusetts on Monday as remnants of Tropical Depression Henri passed through the area, prompting multiple tornado warnings.  All three were EF0,  brief, and created minimal damage, according to the National Weather Service.

The first touched down in Marlboro at 11:40 a.m. and traveled 0.75 miles with a maximum path width of 10 yards. Wind speeds got up to 65 MPH. It started just west of the Marlboro Water Treatment Center and went over a business park before dissipating near Cedar Hill Street. A tree on Cedar Hill fell on two cars.

The second touched down in Bolton at 12:30 p.m. and had wind gusts between 60 and 65 MPH. It traveled 0.1 miles but with a maximum path width of 50 yards. Minor damage was caused between 175 and 198 Main Street where a tree was knocked down into power lines and a large tree branch fell.

"That tornado alert you may have received on your phone in Bolton earlier? Here's what was seen passing through at approximately 12:06," he said.

The third traveled 50 yards in Stow, right near the police department, around 1:10 p.m. It brought down a tree with winds gusts between 65 and 70 MPH. The path was 0.1 miles long and 50 yards wide at its peak.

No injuries were reported.

One resident in Hudson reported a funnel cloud in Hudson around noon.

Last Thursday, a confirmed tornado did touch down in Clinton.
