'Talk To Tom': Bill Belichick Mum On When Brady Will Meet Media

FOXBORO (CBS) – Saturday may only be the first official day of the NFL regular season. But Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was in midseason form at the podium.

Belichick was predictably mum on quarterback Tom Brady's Friday night Facebook statement, during which Brady said "to a large degree, we have all lost" as a result of his successful challenge of a 4-game DeflateGate suspension.

The often tip-lipped Belichick addressed reporters on Saturday at Gillette Stadium as the team kicks preparations into high gear for its season opening contest against Pittsburgh on Thursday night.

"You should talk to Tom about any of that," Belichick told reporters, before answering a follow up question by saying "Talk to Tom."

Players met the media in the locker room on Saturday during the first official day of the regular season.

Brady, however, was not present. He has not met with reporters since the conclusion of the Super Bowl.

With the regular season underway, Brady is obligated to meet reporters or he could potentially face fines from the NFL.

Belichick did not provide any clarity on when reporters may hear from his quarterback.

"You'd have to talk to our PR department about that. I'm just the coach," Belichick said when asked if Brady would meet the media.

The Patriots and Steelers play Thursday night in the NFL opener, with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Commissioner Roger Goodell, who Brady's father called a "flaming liar" when he called into a California radio station, will not be in attendance.

"Right now my feelings are on Pittsburgh, trying to get our team ready to play the Steelers," Belichick said. "We have a big game on Thursday night. That's what my job is, that's what I'm focused on."
