Tobin Bridge Repairs Set To Start

BOSTON (CBS) --- Tobin Bridge commuters take note - starting Sunday night there will be lane restrictions on the bridge.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Doug Cope reports

The Tobin will be down to two lanes of traffic just in time for the Monday morning commute. It's all part of a $45 million paint and repair project.

"This company is doing a full stripping of the paint, they sand blast it off, do any structural repairs that need to be done and then prime it and give it a good top coat," Highway Administrator Frank DePaola said. "The paint should last 10 to 15 years."

As for the lane closures, expect delays for a while.

"It will last through the entire construction season until the end of November," DePaola said.
