Three Men Busted On Drug Charges Near TD Garden

BOSTON (CBS) – Three men were arrested Wednesday night on drug charges in the area of TD Garden.

The arrests took place the same night dozens of people were taken to the hospital from an electronic dance music show by Swedish disc jockey Avicii at the TD Garden for problems with drinking, drug use, and heat in the arena.

None of the three arrested at this point has been linked to the hospitalizations of concertgoers and others outside the Garden, the Suffolk District Attorney's office reported.

Tyler Joseph, 29, of Acushnet, was charged with possession of a Class B substance for a small packet of alleged cocaine that Boston police found on him near the intersection of Merrimac and Lancaster streets, the district attorney's office said.

Jeffrey Sousa, 23, of Seekonk, and William Lopez, 25, of East Providence, R.I., were both charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, the DA's office said.

The drugs were allegedly found in Lopez's vehicle by Boston police during a drug investigation on Friends Street.
