The Golf Club: Improving Strength With Yoga, And Making Golf Friendly For Kids
BOSTON (CBS) -- Though the weather may be stuck in a holding pattern in New England, the calendar has turned to May and golf season is in full swing.
This week on The Golf Club, Hardy takes a look at two very different topics.
Is yoga for golfers an actual "thing?" It is, and Kim Johnson from The Athlete's Yoga in Woburn stops by the Sports Hub Golf Club to tell us why. Spoiler alert: yoga improves mobility, flexibility, core strength, and the mental game -- especially when the program is designed specifically for golfers.
Getting kids into golf can be tricky. The game is intimidating for adults, and even more so for younger players staring down a 480-yard par 4. That's why U.S. Kids Golf makes so much sense. Andy Ingham is the Tour Director for the Boston area, and he explains how U.S. Kids Golf not only makes equipment for kids, but actually changes the courses into kid-friendly venues to encourage participation and competition at an early age.
