Citi Performing Arts Center To Become The Boch Center Nov. 1

BOSTON (CBS) - There's a new name in the Boston theater scene.

The Citi Performing Arts Center, the operator of the Wang and Shubert Theatres, is about to become the Boch Center.

Car mogul Ernie Boch, Jr. has agreed to a multi-year deal to take over the naming sponsorship.

He told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 his family's making this huge investment largely because of the work of the center's president Josiah Spaulding.

"The programs that he has during the day at the theater are incredible and it's a living, breathing entity.  It's amazing," Boch said.

Spaulding said the sponsorship will help in the commitment to providing free arts education to the community.

Boch has long supported music education programs through his Music Drives Us foundation.

The Citi Center becomes the Boch Center on November 1.
