TV Reporter Charged With DWI After Allegedly Hitting NH Pedestrian

HAMPTON (CBS) – A veteran New Hampshire television reporter has been charged with drunk driving for allegedly hitting and injuring an elderly pedestrian.

At about 7 p.m. on September 25, Hampton Police officers were called to Ocean Blvd. and Winnacunnet Road where a 79-year-old woman had been hit by a car.

Witnesses pointed out a 2011 Jeep Patriot that had been involved in the crash.

Audrey Cox, 52, of Lowell was arrested at the scene.

Cox was charged with operating under the influence and reckless conduct.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on October 6 at 8:30 a.m. after being released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail.

According to the WMUR website, Cox began working at the station in 1994 covering stories on the seacoast.

Cox left the station in 2005, but returned in 2011.
