Teens Arrested In New Bedford 'Bear Hug' Robbery

NEW BEDFORD (CBS) -- Two teenage boys have been arrested in a New Bedford robbery that was caught on camera.

New Bedford police released video of the Sunday afternoon robbery, where a 66-year-old man was walking in the area of County and Rivet streets when he was grabbed from behind.

A person is seen putting the victim in a bear hug before reaching into the man's pocket and taking cash, police said.

According to police, the suspect and a second man who was with him ran away from the scene towards Purchase and River streets. Neither of them spoke during the robbery, police said.
