Teen Charged In Roxbury Crash Involving Stolen SUV

BOSTON (CBS) – A 17-year-old girl from Dorchester has been charged in connection with a crash involving a stolen SUV on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say she flipped the stolen Land Rover after a police chase, critically injuring a teenage passenger.

Witnesses said the Land Rover was speeding when it turned from MLK Boulevard onto Warren Street in Roxbury. It flipped hitting a van that hit another car.

The driver is facing several charges including negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police and receiving a stolen car.

One juvenile male passenger was able to exit the SUV. A second juvenile male passenger was transported to Boston Medical Center with critical injuries but is expected to survive.

The suspect is being held on $10,000 bail.
