Teen Charged With Driving Drunk After Crashing Into Peabody Home

PEABODY (CBS) – A teenager was driving drunk when he crashed into a house in Peabody and then drove off, police said.

Linda Panniello told WBZ-TV she was watching TV in her home on Surrey Lane around 10 p.m. Monday when a Honda Civic ran up onto her lawn and smashed through the wall of her living room.

The car then pulled out and drove away, according to Panniello, leaving behind its bumper with the license plate still attached.

A short time later, she said a 17-year-old walked into her house and asked what had happened.

Panniello called police and the teen was arrested.

He was charged with OUI alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and marked lanes violations.

His name was not revealed due to his age.

No one was hurt in the crash.
