Teen Cancer Patients From Mass. Get Trip On Snoopy Blimp

MANSFIELD (CBS) – Some young cancer patients had a chance to fly high with Snoopy Saturday morning.

At Mansfield Airport the four teenagers got a real lift when they boarded the MetLife Snoopy I blimp.

The Believe In Tomorrow Children's Foundation teams up with MetLife to provide the rides through its Hands On Flying Adventures program.

The kids got to experience the takeoff and landing alongside the blimp pilot and even take control of the wheel.

Michelle Farnsworth, 15, enjoyed a bird's eye view from the blimp.

"I got to go and sit in the front and it was the best view ever," she said. "I never thought I'd get to go on a blimp."

Seventeen-year-old Peter Bilzerian has had cancer twice and he's adopted an outlook that embraces opportunities such as riding in a blimp.

"I'm going to live for the thrills now. I earned it," he said.
