Teen Arrested For Lakeville School Threat

LAKEVILLE (CBS) – Police arrested a Lakeville teenager accused of making a school threat on a social media site.

Lakeville police arrested Bryan Kent, 19, and charged him with threatening to use a deadly weapon at a school or public building.

Police said the Lakeville school resource officer was told by a concerned parent about a school threat that was posted anonymously on Yik Yak, a social media site.

After investigating the threat against Apponequet High School, police determined that Kent allegedly was responsible for the threat.

Lakeville police said students and faculty were not in danger and added that Kent did not plan to follow through with the threat.

An extra police presence was expected to be at the school on Thursday. Kent is expected to appear in Wareham District Court.
