Two Men Indicted In 2008 Murder Of Taunton Brothers

TAUNTON (CBS) -- A grand jury has found enough evidence to charge two men with killing two brothers from Taunton back in 2008, prosecutors say.

Kevin and Shawn Vargas were both found shot inside a home on Somerset Avenue. Shawn Vargas' two young sons were found uninjured inside the apartment.

The suspects both face two counts of murder.

Kevin Cox, a 26-year-old from Berkley, is due in court Monday. Swansea 28-year-old Matthew Lander will be in court at a later date.

Taunton police detectives and Massachusetts State Police have been working on the case for 8-and-a-half years. Officials say that even with these charges, the investigation into the homicide is still active.
