Rally Supporting Syrian, Iraq Refugees Scheduled For NH State House

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A rally is set for the New Hampshire State House lawn to support refugees from Syria and Iraq.

The rally at noon Saturday is sponsored by American Friends Service Committee, New American Africans, NH Peace Action, and the UNH Muslim Student Association. Members of the immigrant community will speak at the event.

There is strong debate currently over how many — if any — refugees the United States should accept from those two war-torn countries. After the Paris terror attacks, some elected officials called for a ban or at least a slowdown on accepting refugees from Syria.
