Boston Police Seek Missing 'SWAT Cat'

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Police Department is missing its "SWAT Cat."

The stray Calico feline with distinctive black, white and orange fur started hanging around the Boston Police Special Weapons and Tactics base in 2013. Authorities say she enjoys belly rubs and eating with officers at meal times.

Now police are hoping the public can help them find BPD SWAT's unofficial mascot, who hasn't been seen in about three weeks.

"She had become part of the family. But it's sad, she's not there. It's like going to work and not seeing a well-liked coworker," one SWAT officer said in a statement.

Anyone who might be able to help find SWAT Cat should call police at 617-343-4520.
