Swastikas, Obscenities Spray Painted On Middleboro Homes, Cars

MIDDLEBORO (CBS) ---Police are trying to track down the person or persons responsible for a wave of vandalism.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe reports

Residents in one neighborhood awoke to find their cars and homes spray painted with obscenities.

The vandals spray painted swastikas and obscenities on four homes and 9 cars in the West End of Middleboro. Police say they targeted homeowners on Lane Street and Warren and West End avenues.

Police Lt. Robert Ferreira does not believe the swastikas were directed toward Jewish families. One neighbor tells WBZ NewsRadio 1030 he thinks it was a group of kids out having what they consider a good time.

Another resident says he finds the vandalism disturbing, since the swastika is a hate symbol that also represents white supremacy.

Police are investigating but so far, have no leads.
