Swansea Man Struck And Killed While Walking On Route 195

SWANSEA (AP) – Massachusetts State Police say a 32-year-old man has died after being struck on a highway by a car driven by a Rhode Island resident.

Troopers say Jason Luciano of Swansea died at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, after Tuesday night's accident on Route 195 in Swansea.

Police say Luciano was walking in the eastbound left travel lane when he was hit shortly before midnight. Authorities say they're trying to determine why he was walking on the highway.

State police say they have not charged the driver, 18-year-old Robert Walsh of Tiverton, Rhode Island.

Walsh and two passengers in his car weren't hurt.
