Mass Maritime Academy Student Killed In Crash On Cape

BARNSTABLE (CBS) – A driver was killed in an early morning crash on the Cape.

An SUV was travelling east on Route 6A in Barnstable when it flipped and slammed into a tree just before 3 a.m.

The driver, 31-year-old, David Johnson of North Charleston, South Carolina, was the only person in the 2000 GMC Yukon.

According to police, he worked part-time on Cape Cod while he attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy as an adult commuting student.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
