Uber Driver Crashes Into Beacon Hill Home

BOSTON (CBS) – An Uber driver and his passenger were taken to the hospital after a SUV crashed into a Beacon Hill building Wednesday afternoon.

The SUV crashed through a brick wall at the end of Grove Street and into a home's pantry. Boston Police say the Uber driver, Jean Caillot, and his passenger were taken to Mass General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses tell WBZ-TV's Katie Brace they heard a loud boom and then saw the car speed up and hit the wall.

Police are investigating if the SUV was involved in a hit and run that occurred on nearby Cambridge Street.

Inspectional Services is examining the building to make sure it's structurally safe.
