Sutton Crash Sends Steel Beams Through Car, Oak Tree

SUTTON (CBS) -- A driver is lucky to be alive after a crash in Sutton sent steel beams through a car and a tree.

Sutton police say the car was near 85 Dudley Road Monday morning when it struck some steel beams being unloaded by a forklift at the home.

"The accident occurred with such force that the steel beam sheared through the vehicle," Sutton police said in a Facebook post.

The crash also snapped a utility pole in half, and launched a 120-pound beam into a large oak tree.

"Luckily, the operator didn't sustain even more injuries from the way everything unfolded," police said.
