NH Police Investigate Suspicious Death Of 2-Year-Old Boy

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) – Police are investigating the death of a two-year-old boy in Manchester, NH.

Officers responded to a home on Howe Street late Monday morning for a report of an unconscious toddler.

"The child was transported to the Elliot Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later," NH Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said. "At this time, the cause of the toddler's death appears suspicious."

Neighbors are surprised to say the least.

"This really came as a shock," said neighbor Eric Landry. "We never really heard anything from them at all."

"They all seemed like normal children, a normal family so it's very surprising to see something like that happen here," said neighbor Adam Lavoie.

Detectives could be seen going door-to-door interviewing neighbors about the two-year-old boy and his parents.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
