Suspect In Custody After Attempted Burglary In Wellesley

WELLESLEY (CBS) – Police in Wellesley are investigating an attempted burglary that happened on Glen Road Wednesday afternoon.

A woman says a man she did not know rang her doorbell at about 1:20 p.m. When she did not open the door, she says she saw two other men walking around her house and then heard noises coming from her garage.

Police say the two suspects fled on foot and one of the men possibly jumped out of a window on the second floor of the house.

Officers responded to the area and found a man who matched the description of one of the suspects at the Wellesley Farms train station.

That man, identified as 34-year-old Christopher Chase of Lynn, fled the train station and was arrested on outstanding warrants at a another house on Glen Road.

Police are looking to identify two other individuals involved in the break-in.

Wellesley Police say there have been a number of reports of suspicious people ringing doorbells around town.

The woman was not injured and nothing was taken from the house.
