Suspect Caught On Camera Robbing New Bedford Man

NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – New Bedford police are investigating a daytime robbery of a man walking home that was caught on camera.

Police said that Sunday at about 12:45 p.m. a 66-year-old New Bedford man was walking in the area of County and Rivet Streets when he was grabbed from behind.

The suspect put the man in a bear hug before reaching into the victim's pocket and taking cash, police said.

According to police, the suspect and a second man who was with him ran away from the scene towards Purchase and River Streets.

Both suspects are described as light-skinned men with slim builds, between 5'7" and 5'10" tall and wearting light-colored clothing.

Police said neither man spoke during the alleged robbery.
