Suspect Arrested After Manhunt In Newburyport

NEWBURYPORT (CBS) – A 19-year-old man was arrested after police issued a shelter-in-place order in Newburyport Wednesday evening.
Jose Ilarraza allegedly fled officers who were serving an arrest warrant in conjunction with the Department of Children and Families on Storey Avenue.

Police issued a shelter-in-place warning to residents, visitors and business owners in the area of Port Plaza. Ilarraza was believed to be armed and dangerous.
K-9 units from area communities assisted with the search and arrest.
After about an hour, Ilarraza was arrested near Zabriskie Drive. He faces charges including breaking and entering and resisting arrest.
