Arrest Made After Bullet Grazed Woman Outside Dorchester Church

BOSTON (CBS) – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting outside a Dorchester church last week.

Last Friday a 52-year-old woman sitting in her vehicle was grazed by an errant bullet outside of the Freedom in Christ Ministry. She was treated at Boston Medical Center and released.

After reviewing surveillance video of the incident, detectives identified the suspect as 22-year-old James Martin of Boston. He was arrested after a brief foot pursuit in Dorchester late Thursday afternoon.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said, "The suspect in this case showed an utter and complete disregard for the safety of others and, without question, our city's a safer place with him off the streets."

Martin was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery and unlawful possession of a firearm.
