Summer Of Savings: Free Fitness Classes

BOSTON (CBS) – If you came home with a little extra baggage following your summer vacation, we understand. Ice cream can certainly be tempting on these hot summer nights.

But now you can shed pounds without dropping all of your hard earned dough.

There are plenty of options for free fitness fun in WBZ-TV's Summer of Savings.

Get your weekend started on the right foot, or leg if you may, with free yoga at Assembly Square.

Each Saturday dozens of people gather along the Mystic River for a 9 a.m. workout.

All you need to bring is your mat. Be sure to pre-register to guarantee your spot along the river.

The program runs each week until September.

LEGACY PLACE WORKOUTS

For a bit more variety, check out Legacy Place in Dedham.

Each Thursday they take over part of the parking lot for a different fitness class.

They've covered everything from barre to boot camps!

CLASSES WITH A VIEW

Get a workout with a view in Boston's Seaport District.

Five days a week there are classes on the Seaport green overlooking Boston Harbor.

Sometimes there are even two in a day!

The classes range from yoga to kickboxing and include live music.

They won't stop when summer ends...the program runs until the end of October.

The City of Boston has a host of free fitness classes this summer including something for every day of the week.
