Suffolk Downs Redevelopment Project Approved By Boston's Planning Board

BOSTON (CBS) - An $8 billion redevelopment project at Suffolk Downs has been approved by Boston's planning board.

Over the next twenty years, the race track will be transformed into a mixed-use neighborhood that will have commercial property, office space and 10,000 new apartments and condos.

Twenty-percent of the units will be affordable housing and 10-percent will be for seniors.

There will also be parks and open spaces on the site.
