Sturbridge Police Chief Seriously Hurt In Dudley Motorcycle Crash

DUDLEY (CBS/AP) – Sturbridge's police chief was seriously injured in a weekend motorcycle crash but his injuries are not considered life threatening.

Chief Thomas Ford III suffered a concussion and head trauma when his motorcycle crashed on Route 197 near the intersection of Williams Street in Dudley at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dudley police said

The 50-year-old Ford was admitted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Police said no other vehicles were involved in the accident. Ford was off duty at the time of the crash.

The cause remains under investigation.
