Stoneham Police Officer Lends Hat To Boy For 'Crazy Hat Day'

STONEHAM (CBS) – The Stoneham Police Department is giving a tip of the hat to one of its officers for making sure a young boy dressed properly for Crazy Hat Day at school.

The department tweeted a picture on Wednesday of a young boy wearing a sergeant's police hat.

"An officer was at a school and heard a child say they forgot their hat for Crazy Hat Day so he loaned the boy his hat," police said.

Police did not identify the officer or child involved.
