Stolen State Police Cruiser Found Abandoned In Somerville Parking Lot

SOMERVILLE (CBS) -- A Massachusetts State Police cruiser stolen from a maintenance facility in South Boston Monday morning was found abandoned in a parking lot in Somerville.

Police say the cruiser was being repaired for engine problems when it was taken. Troopers deactivated the cruiser's radio system when they learned it was taken. It was found a few hours later at the Twin City Plaza parking lot in Somerville.

The cruiser was not assigned to a trooper. There were no firearms or lethal weapons inside at the time, and police say nothing was taken from the cruiser.

The incident is under investigation.
