Steven Wright Injured While Pinch Running, Will Miss Next Start

BOSTON (CBS) -- John Farrell made the unique decision over the weekend to insert knuckleballer Steven Wright as a pinch runner for David Ortiz.

Farrell announced Wednesday that Wright will miss his scheduled start on Thursday, due to an injury suffered while diving back to second base on Sunday night.

Wright made the AL All-Star team this year, and he's leading Red Sox starters with a 3.01 ERA.

Buchholz owns a 5.68 ERA on the season, but he's got a 3.32 ERA in his 19 innings of work as a reliever.
