State Police Trooper Reels In 'Shark' Blocking Traffic On I-190

HOLDEN (CBS) – They're going to need a bigger cruiser.

A Massachusetts State Police trooper came face to face with their own version of Jaws - sort of.

Troopers from the Holden barracks responded to Interstate 190 near Interstate 290 on Saturday for a report of metal debris in the road.

It turns out the object wasn't metal after all.

Instead, the responding trooper found an inflatable shark impeding traffic.

In a lighthearted Facebook post, State Police said that "disregarding his own safety, Trooper Paluk reeled in this shark" to clear the way for traffic.

"Once the shark was safely reeled in, Trooper Paluk secured it, in his two-tone blue vessel, and sailed away, leaving the motoring public, safe yet again," police said.
