State Police Seeks Public's Help To ID Body Found In Charles River

BOSTON (CBS) -- State Police detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a male body pulled from the Charles River in March.

The body was found floating along the Esplanade around 12:30p.m. on March 10.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, the man is white, about 60 years old, about 5'8" tall, and weighed about 200 pounds. He was bald except for white hair on the back and sides of his head, and had white facial hair.

The man was wearing a dark-colored Carhartt stocking cap, light-colored pants, a blue sweater, and a gray hooded Abercrombie & Fitch sweatshirt with faded yellow lettering. He was also carrying a backpack but there was no identification found inside.

The DA's office says investigators have exhausted other conventional means of identifying the man.

An autopsy found no signs of violent trauma to cause his death.
